Problems with the fixed orthodontics retainer

problems with the fixed orthodontics retainer

At the end of your long two to three orthodontics (braces) journey, it is necessary to maintain the results achieved. For this purpose, your orthodontist recommends you wear a retainer that will help you maintain the results. Read on to learn more about fixed orthodontics retainers.
Two types of retainers are mostly commonly used after the dental braces (orthodontics) treatment is finished.
1. Fixed orthodontic retainer
2. Removable orthodontic retainer

Removable orthodontic retainer as the name indicates are removable, allows ease of removal during eating or social interaction, and maintain excellent oral hygiene. In removable orthodontic retainers, two designs are commonly used, 1. Hawley’s removable orthodontic retainer 2. Clear or VFR retainers, these retainers are gaining tremendous popularity among patients due to their invisible nature and free from wires.

On the other hand, in some cases, fixed orthodontics retainers are recommended by your orthodontist, especially if your teeth had the following before the start of your braces journey:

  1. Generalized spacing
  2. Large spacing between your front teeth
  3. Corner (canine) teeth high in the palate

Fixed orthodontic retainers, according to scientific recent evidence perform equally well as removable orthodontic retainers. If your orthodontist has suggested you wear fixed orthodontist retainers, the following things should be kept in mind before making your final decision for Clear Vs. Fixed Orthodontic retainers:

  1. Fixed orthodontic braces retainers require excellent oral hygiene:

It is slightly more difficult to clean your teeth when fixed retainers are in place, you need to spend extra time and effort to clean thoroughly around fixed retainers. Since they are placed at the inner surface of teeth, they require more attention and gentle handling during brushing, otherwise, they may become loose and need repair which can be costly.
If you are unable to brush properly for a long time, initial plaque and calculus deposits will occur, later on, your teeth may have cavities that can go on un-noticed since the retainers are on the inner surface, and it is easy to miss out on the cavities developing around or under the fixed retainers.

2. Follow-up visits are essential at regular intervals:

Sometimes, fixed retainer wire is broken on one or two teeth which initially goes unnoticed and the patient realizes it when that particular tooth changes its position due to broken retainer wire. Therefore, it is essential to regularly visit your orthodontist so that he can make sure your fixed retainers are working correctly and not broken down. Furthermore, he can also detect if there are any signs of cavities or caries on your teeth and will reinforce your oral hygiene instructions to protect your teeth from further decay.

Summary:

  • Fixed retainers are excellent to maintain the orthodontic treatment results.
  • Clear retainers Vs. Fixed retainer equally performs well.
  • Fixed retainers are preferred in some cases over clear retainers.
  • Fixed retainers demand excellent oral hygiene and regular visits to orthodontist.

PFM vs Zirconia dental crown which is better?

pfm vs zirconia dental crown which is better

The most common solution for restoring a missing tooth is a dental crown (commonly called a tooth cap). It can be placed over a dental implant or supporting adjacent natural teeth. Crown is also suggested by your Dentist after doing root canal treatment (RCT) because root canal treatment makes teeth fragile and prone to fracture. To protect the tooth from fracture in the future or to restore tooth shape (anatomy), the dental crown is advised by the dentist. A dental crown can be made of different materials like a PFM crown, Zirconia crown, or all Metal crown.
Read on to learn more about different types of tooth crowns e.g., PFM or Zirconia.

PFM Dental Crown:

PFM (Porcelain fused to metal) crown is the most commonly used material to make an artificial dental crown, as the name indicates white porcelain material is supported by an underlying metal layer.

Benefits of PFM Dental Crown:

  • Restores your natural tooth shape (anatomy)
  • Protect your tooth from accidental breakage especially if the tooth is root canal treated

Disadvantages of PFM Dental Crown:

  • The underlying metal layer is sometimes visible if porcelain chips off or gums move away from teeth
  • Involves more tooth cutting of natural tooth than zirconia crown.

Zirconia Crown:
Zirconia is a special material, crowns made up of zirconia are metal-free, thus giving more aesthetic look.

Benefits of Zirconia Dental Crown:

  • Aesthetic (metal-free)
  • Mostly advised after dental implants

Disadvantages of Zirconia Dental Crown:

  • Expensive compared to traditional PFM crown

What is the Price of a PFM dental crown in Lahore?
It usually varies from clinic (dentist) to clinic (dentist) but generally Price of PFM dental crowns in Lahore, Pakistan is between 15,000 to 20,000 Rs per tooth. Remember more the price, the better will be the quality.

What is the Price of Zirconia dental crown in Lahore?
Again, it usually varies from clinic (dentist) to clinic (dentist) but generally Price of Zirconia dental crowns in Lahore, Pakistan is between 40,000 to 60,000 Rs per tooth. Remember more the price, the better will be the quality.

Summary:

  • Dental crown can be placed to restore tooth shape or after root canal treatment
  • Three or more dental crowns can be combined to form a dental bridge, which can be very helpful in restoring a missing tooth or teeth.
  • PFM Vs. Zirconia dental crowns can be chosen by considering the factors mentioned above.
  • Zirconia crowns are generally more expensive than PFM dental crowns.

Which retainer is best after dental braces?

Which retainer is best after dental braces

One of the happiest moments in life is when you get rid of your braces after a long journey of two to three years. Your teeth are straightened and your smile is improved increasing your self-esteem. Your confidence is on the next level during social interaction with your new amazing smile. But wait, the game is not over yet. To keep this new smile long-lasting, you need to wear the appliance for as long as you can. Yes, you are right your orthodontist had told you about this during your initial appointments. This is high time to wear your retainer. Read on to learn more about retainer after dental braces.

What is a dental retainer after braces treatment?
A dental retainer is a simple orthodontic appliance that helps you maintain the results of your orthodontic treatment, i.e., holds the teeth in a new position and doesn’t allow teeth to move back to their original position.

For how long do I need to wear an orthodontic retainer?
If you strictly follow the textbook answer is “as long as you want to keep your teeth straight”. But usually, retainers are worn for one to two years depending on the individual case. But in some cases, generalized spacing or large gaps between teeth require lifelong retention. So, your orthodontist can guide you on how much duration is recommended for your case.

Are dental orthodontic retainers removable?
Yes, retainers can be both removable or fixed, depending on the individual case and patient preferences.

Can I easily eat or chew food while wearing retainers?
Yes, you can easily enjoy your food while wearing fixed retainers. If you are wearing removable retainers you can easily take them out and reinsert them later after having your favorite food.

Can I easily speak while wearing retainers?
Yes, you can easily speak while wearing your retainers. If you are wearing removable retainers, initially they disturb speech but it takes 3-5 days to adapt and your speech will be fine like before.

What will happen if I frequently miss wearing my retainer?
If you don’t wear your retainer properly according to the schedule prescribed by your orthodontist, your teeth may move slightly, resulting in misfitting of retainers, i.e., it will be difficult for you to remove and reinsert your retainer with ease.

What are the pros and cons of a removable retainer?
The pros of removable retainers like trending clear or vacuum formed retainers (VFR) are, they are removable, can easily be removed during social interaction or meal times, and allow improved oral hygiene access and care. Cons are they can be lost if not properly taken care of or misplaced, and they can discolor with time or maybe broken down with frequent removal and reinsertion.

What are the pros and cons of a fixed retainer?
The pros of fixed orthodontic retainers are they don’t need to be removed and have less chance of misplacing. However, it is difficult to maintain oral hygiene in the area beneath the retainer wire. So, proper cleaning is difficult in a fixed retainer, that if goes on unnoticed may lead to decalcification of tooth structure resulting in porosities and finally caries. Therefore, it is mandatory to have excellent oral hygiene if you’re wearing, especially fixed retainers.

Finally, the billion-dollar question asked by most of our patients is:
Which retainer is best after dental braces?
The simple answer is: “Both removable and fixed retainers are good, as you long as maintain your oral hygiene and visit your orthodontist periodically for a follow-up to look for any changes or damages to the retainer that will hamper its function”

Summary:

  • A retainer is necessary to maintain orthodontics results.
  • Lifelong retention is the best insurance.
  • Both removable and fixed retainers are effective.
  • Excellent oral hygiene maintenance is necessary.
  • Regular follow-ups at specific intervals are highly recommended.

Why dental treatment is expensive?

Why dental treatment is expensive

One of the main reasons for the continuous neglect of regular dental check-ups is the high charges of dental treatment. With the increasing inflation in the country, dental services are also affected. However, there are many other reasons for expensive dental treatment, in this blog, we’ll highlight a few key points to make you understand why dental treatment is expensive. (دانتوں کا علاج کیوں مہنگا ہے؟)

  1. Qualification of the dentist:

It’s obvious a dental specialist will charge you more than a general dentist because they provide you with specialist care services. The years of post-graduation specialist training, knowledge, and expertise of the Specialist/Consultant is more than a general dentist. In Pakistan, dental specialists/consultants possess the qualifications like FCPS, and/ or MDS (recognized by PM&DC) in addition to a 4-year BDS degree.

2. Experience of the dentist:

After qualification, years of experience are the second most important factor for high-priced dental treatment. The more experienced the dentist is, the more charges will be because there will be fewer chances of patient complaints and high satisfaction. Similarly, a Professor will charge more than Registrar.

3. Sterilization and cross-infection control:

It is one of the essential requirements for patient safety to provide infection control services. Every instrument to be used in patients should be autoclaved (sterilized) to make sure its germ free and prevent harmful infections like Hep B, C, and HIV. To maintain and provide international standard sterilization and disinfection protocol service, good clinics charge more. Those who keep the treatment charges low will compromise on infection control to maintain their profit.

4. Quality of treatment:

It refers to the quality of material used in dental treatment, as low-priced dental treatment cannot be offered with high-quality dental material. So, if you want good quality dental material (e.g., Filling material, crown, or implants) to be used obviously the price will be higher.

5. Quality of services:

The clinic provides you with reasonable services, like a comfortable waiting area, free car parking, clean drinking water, temperature control (e.g., AC in summer) and a washroom will charge you more to maintain these services and provide you with high-quality treatment.

6. Equipment and material cost:

The clinic is equipped with the latest and advanced dental machines like digital X-ray and intra-oral scanners and 3D dental printers will charge you more than clinics that don’t provide these facilities and outsource patients to 3rd party services like dental X-ray imaging centers for X-rays (radiographs). Now clinics are replacing traditional impression material with intra-oral scanners thus increasing the treatment price at the cost of short treatment time. In the past, root canal treatment (RCT) was done using hand instruments, now rotatory instruments have replaced them facilitating the dentist and patients with decreased chair time at the expense of increased dental charges.

7. Location of the dental office:

This is also an important factor in deciding treatment charges obviously the clinic located in a well-developed area will charge you more than a regular clinic in a local shopping area.

We recommend you choose the dental clinic which provides you with the best dental treatment at an affordable and reasonable price considering the aforementioned points.

Who is an orthodontist?

Who is an orthodontist?

In remote areas of Pakistan, patients are unable to differentiate between a general dentist and an orthodontist. When they are referred to an orthodontist for the treatment of their complex dental braces case, many ask who is an orthodontist. (آرتھوڈونٹسٹ کسے کہتے ہیں؟)

An orthodontist is a dentist who specializes in dental braces (orthodontics). Orthodontics deals with the correction of irregular and crooked teeth, eg. open bite, underbite, cross-bite, crowding, and spacing are common orthodontic problems.

Moderate to complex orthodontic cases are best treated by an orthodontist. An orthodontist has extra 3 or 4 years of specialist training in addition to general dental training. They are competent to deal with complex orthodontic cases like growth modification, extraction, distalization, expansion of jaws, impacted teeth, and cleft lip and palate. Their scope is not limited to teeth only, they can do manipulation of jaws i.e., orthognathic surgical cases for patients with severe dentofacial deformities.

In Pakistan, orthodontists have an extra qualification (FCPS, MDS, Ph.D. or MOrth RCS) in addition to a BDS degree, recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

It is worth mentioning C.Orth written by some dentists is just an additional 6 months or 1 year of orthodontic training diploma which is not equivalent to 3 or 4 years post-graduation specialist training. So, C.Orth holders, general dentists are not orthodontic specialists/consultants. C.Orth simply means Certificate in Orthodontics.

For dental braces related problems, it is highly recommended to choose an orthodontist over the general dentist.

Does scaling weaken the teeth?

Does scaling weaken the teeth?

Teeth Scaling and polishing also known as teeth cleaning is a very common dental procedure. Plaque and calculus are deposited on the teeth if teeth are not brushed properly and oral hygiene care is ignored. In the initial stages, it causes reversible problems like bad breath, bleeding gums, and swollen gums, if not treated can progress to gum recession, bone loss, and sensitivity of teeth. All the problems can be addressed by a simple dental procedure called Dental Scaling and Polishing.

Many patients don’t undergo teeth scaling (cleaning) treatment, just because they had heard from their friends that teeth scaling weakens the teeth. (In Urdu: صفائی کرانے سے دانت کمزور ہو جاتے ہیں) Read on to learn about this common myth in our society.

Teeth scaling and polishing treatment doesn’t weaken teeth, instead, regular treatment keeps our teeth protected from weakening by preventing various dental problems like gingivitis (inflammation of gums) and periodontitis (advanced disease of the gums). So, why do people claim that teeth scaling weakens their teeth? The simple answer is: Their teeth are already weak due to advanced-stage gum disease, since gums disease is mostly asymptomatic (pain-free) they are unaware of it.

When the dentist cleans the teeth during the scaling procedure, the large gaps between teeth (hidden due to plaque and calculus deposits) are exposed and if the disease is severe there can be the mobility of teeth, because teeth are weak due to disease but firmly gripped by plaque and calculus (which caused the disease), so when plaque and calculus are removed, the artificial support to teeth is removed and they appear mobile and hence the patient claims that after teeth scaling their teeth weakens, which is not true as described above.

Every patient is different, their immune response and medical condition are different among other factors, so never compare your dental health-related problems with other patients. Always choose a qualified Dentist for information and treatment related to your dental health.

Are your dental instruments sterilized?

With the increasing public awareness about the risk of potentially lethal infections caused by following poor dental sterilization practices, one of the fears of new dental patients visiting our dental practice is about sterilization of instruments. So, the very first question is “Are your dental instruments sterilized?” At Royal Dental Care, we follow international standard sterilization protocol to ensure the safety of our patients. For every patient, a new set of sterilized instruments are used.

All our instruments are cleaned and packed following international recommendations for cleaning and disinfection of instruments. Instruments are then sterilized in B-Class Autoclave. Sterilization is essential to prevent cross-contamination.

All surfaces near our dental unit are cleaned and disinfected regularly after every patient to make sure we provide a safe and sterile environment to every new patient.

Barrier sheets are applied on the working surfaces of the dental unit and are replaced with every new patient. This also helps to prevent cross-contamination. Personal protective equipment including sterile gloves for surgical procedures is used to ensure the safety of our dental staff and patients.

Maintaining international standard sterilization protocol is one of the main reasons why our dental treatment is slightly more expensive than other dental clinics. As cheap dental treatment providers do not follow standard sterilization protocols, making you prone to the risk of lethal infections like Hepatitis B, C, and HIV.

Thus, we recommend you always visit/choose the dental practice that offers you the best sterilization protocols to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones.

Is dental braces treatment possible without tooth extraction? ( Kya dant nikalwaye baghair braces ka ilaj mumkin ha? کیا دانت نکلوائے بغیر ڈینٹل بریسز کا علاج ممکن ہے؟ )

Today we’ll discuss another important question frequently asked by our dental braces patients, “My previous dentist told me we have to pull out (extract) your few teeth to make good alignment of your teeth”. Many kids become nervous and reluctant to undergo any orthodontic treatment after hearing that probably because of fear of pain and sometimes it creates anxiety for the parents as well. So, is it possible to undergo dental braces treatment without extracting any tooth? Read on to learn more about orthodontics without tooth extraction.

The straight answer is: Both Yes and No.

Let us explain you further. The most important factors are the time when you visit your orthodontist (age of the patient) and malocclusion (severity of irregularities between teeth for example crowding of your teeth).

Generally, among many orthodontic treatment options, Growth modification is the treatment that can give excellent results if you visit your orthodontist at the right time. For those patients who have prominent upper teeth or large horizontal gap called Overjet between their upper and lower teeth, there are generally four orthodontic treatment options:

  1. Backward movement of upper teeth by the appliance.
  2. Backward movement of upper anterior teeth after extracting upper two teeth one from each side.
  3. Forward movement of lower jaw by utilizing growth.
  4. Forward movement of lower jaw by Orthognathic surgery when the growth is ended.
growth modification orthodontic treatment Dr Abbas Consultant Orthodontist

Example of orthodontic growth modification case, treated by Dr. Abbas Naseem.
This case had been treated with growth modification treatment without extracting any tooth. If the same patient had visited the orthodontist when the growth phase of the patient had ended, it was impossible to treat him/her without tooth extraction or surgery.

SUMMARY:
Which treatment option is best for you, depends on your age, & the severity of the malocclusion. You should always consult your orthodontist to find out what is the right option for you. An orthodontist is a specialist dentist which deals with the correction of irregular teeth and jaws.

Dr. Abbas Naseem is the only dental braces specialist (consultant orthodontist) in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.

دانت درد کا فوری علاج dant dard ka fori ilaj

Emergency treatment for tooth pain دانت درد کا فوری علاجdant dard ka fori ilaj

Emergency treatment for tooth pain
Tooth pain (Dant or Darh Ka Dard) often starts spontaneously at an awkward time, late at night, or when it is not possible to go to the dentist due to any other reason. It is interesting to know a lot of content available on the internet YouTube etc regarding emergency treatment for tooth pain (Dant Mein Dard Ka Fori Ilaj, or Best Home Remedies for Toothache). But every article or video misses important information, which every patient needs to know. Read on to learn more about how to get instant relief from toothache (tooth pain, dant dard).

1. Do not neglect mild dental pain or discomfort:
It is vitally important, you should not ignore even mild tooth pain or sensitivity. When you are experiencing such symptoms, always visit your dentist, or nowadays you can also consult a dentist online. Because it might be a warning sign of an upcoming big dental problem.

2. Most important thing to do when tooth pain suddenly starts:
Ideally, you should immediately seek the help of your nearby best dentist, if the sharp severe dental pain starts spontaneously. If the pain is of moderate intensity or an immediate visit to the dentist is not possible, you can still try to get online dental consultation from your dentist, or if you are medically otherwise healthy can take simple paracetamol and try to seek a dentist’s help as soon as possible.

3. Avoid delays in a visit to the dentist:
Sometimes you get instant relief due to Home Remedies for Toothache and you do not give importance to visiting a dentist to know why it started and what is the proper way to manage tooth pain in the future.

4. Important to visit the dentist, why?
With temporary dental pain relief at home with medicines or other home remedies, you are just temporarily managing your teeth problems and it’s not the permanent solution to your dental problems.
When you visit the dentist, your dentist will properly examine your teeth and oral cavity and tell you about your tooth decay and why the teeth pain started. If there is any cavity in your teeth, your dentist will advise you to get proper tooth filling done to avoid future toothache discomfort.
Neglect can cost you a lot as your simple cavity can turn into a deep one which is to deal with a different procedure such as RCT which is more expensive.

Summary:

  1. Always seek your dentist’s help in case of tooth pain, dant ya darh ka dard.
  2. Home remedies for tooth pain are temporary.
  3. Never undermine the importance of visiting a dentist even if your tooth pain subsides due to home remedies or medicines such as paracetamol.
  4. Online dental consultation is also available, it is recommended to always consult your dentist if you are experiencing any toothache or discomfort.

How Swimming can affect your Oral and Dental Health?

How Swimming can affect your Oral and Dental Health

With a change of weather, especially when it turns HOT, most of us move towards a cooler place to beat the summer heat. Usually, people enjoy their summer vacations swimming in cool pools or the sea. Swimming is also a good exercise for your whole-body workout. Have you have ever wondered how swimming can affect your teeth and oral health? Keep on reading to learn the effects of swimming on oral health.

Generally, chlorine is used in most swimming pools to keep the water clean and kill bacteria. Excessive chlorine in the pool can damage your teeth by causing swimmer’s calculus.

What is Swimmer’s Calculus?
The excess chlorine in the water can accumulate on the teeth surfaces known as swimmer’s calculus. This makes your teeth appear yellowish-brown. This may also lead to erosion of your teeth’ enamel. If the enamel erodes, it can cause teeth sensitivity. The risk of dental decay is also increased.

How Can You Avoid Swimmer’s Calculus?
You can avoid it by simply managing the pH of your pool water. Pool water pH is best when kept between 7.2 to 7.8 and a free chlorine concentration of at least 1 ppm in pools and at least 3 ppm in hot tubs/spas. Free available chlorine is the more active form of chlorine that kills germs. So, before you start swimming please make sure recommended chlorine levels in swimming pools, otherwise, if you are unsure it is recommended to hire a professional to adjust proper chlorine levels before you swim.

Why wearing Mouth Guards is important during swimming?
Mouth guards protect you from accidental water-based (water polo or water volleyball) sports injuries. Moreover, they also prevent direct contact with chemicals in the water. So a safety precaution wearing a mouth guard during swimming is recommended.

Some useful Tips and Tricks to avoid swimming side effects on oral health:

  1. Always clean your mouth by rinsing with fresh water after swimming to get rid of any harmful chemical deposits that might have built up during swimming.
  2. Prevent direct contact with chlorine with your teeth by keeping your mouth closed while you swim. You can also consider mouth guards easily available from Amazon for this purpose.
  3. To minimize the risk of losing or damaging removable dental appliances, it is better to remove them before swimming. You can store them in their protective plastic cases in a locker away from the poolside so there are fewer chances of misplacing them.
  4. Regular Dental Check-Ups are necessary if you swim more frequently.

Summary:

  • Swimming is a healthy activity.
  • Combining good chlorine and pH control prevents damage to teeth and oral health.
  • Excessive chlorine can cause Swimmer’s Calculus.
  • Always rinse with fresh water after swimming to keep your teeth and mouth clean.

How to choose the best toothbrush?

How to choose the best toothbrush

Toothbrush is the most common tool to keep your teeth clean and mouth healthy. Most people just go to shopping malls or pharmacies, look at the fancy packing of toothbrushes and buy them without giving thought to how to choose proper toothbrushes or which toothbrush is best for them. Nowadays, as oral hygiene awareness is tremendously increasing, many people now seek tips from the dentist to buy the right toothbrush for their oral health needs.
When you are looking for the best toothbrush, there are a few key points that you should never miss to make sure that you purchase the right toothbrush. We have summarized the best available data, which will help you to choose the best toothbrush for you.

What are the Differences Between Toothbrushes?
There are a variety of toothbrushes available in the market, most of the people get confused by looking at the number of brands. So, we’re here to help you. There are many differences among toothbrushes, such as:

  • Handle size: Short or Long
  • Handle surface: Smooth or Rough
  • Bristles: Extra Soft, Soft, Medium or Hard
  • Quality: Cheap or High
  • Packing: With or without protective cover

Few Tips:

  • It should be easy to place in your mouth.
  • Its handle should be long enough to properly fit in your hand.
  • It easily reaches the back of your molars.
  • It’s the American Dental Association (ADA) approved for effectiveness and safety.

What is the recommended hardness of toothbrush bristles?
Correct toothbrush bristles hardness selection is the most important factor while choosing the right toothbrush. Have you ever thought how hard the bristles should be? Many people select a toothbrush with hard bristles, just because it’s easier and quicker to remove the plaque and food debris from your teeth, but is it worth it?
The answer is “No”, because hard bristles may not only cause discomfort and pain but also damage your enamel and increase the risk of gum recession. At RoyalDentalCare.Pk, our expert Dentist Dr. Abbas Naseem recommends toothbrush with extra soft bristles.
You should also look for a toothbrush that has rounded ends on the bristles. Rounded ended bristles cleaning efficiency is far superior to others and will not damage your gums.

Tip: To avoid damage to your teeth and gums, always apply gentle pressure while cleaning your teeth using proper brushing techniques.

Which toothbrush is the best, Electric or Manual?
As far as your brushing technique is correct, you can get the same results with both toothbrushes. Both types are effective at removing plaque and preventing gum disease.

Are electric toothbrushes better than manual ones?
Electric toothbrushes claim to be more effective in reducing plaque and bacteria, but as mentioned earlier if you are using proper technique there is nothing much to worry about. It is a preference on which type of toothbrush to select depending upon your budget and other factors as discussed.
At RoyalDentalCare.Pk, our expert Dentist Dr. Abbas Naseem recommends using an electric toothbrush.

Which toothbrush is the best for the children?
There are a variety of fancy toothbrushes available for the kids. Parents should use the same guidelines as discussed in this blog when choosing a toothbrush for their children. Attention should be given in the selection of correct brush head size so that it’s comfortable to use and can reach every corner of your kid’s mouth.

How often should I change my toothbrush?
It is recommended that you change your toothbrush at least twice a year. With time depending upon the use of toothbrush its bristles get distorted and bacterial buildup occurs on the toothbrush, so at RoyalDentalCare.Pk, our expert Dentist Dr. Abbas Naseem recommends changing toothbrush once every three months.

How can I take care of my toothbrush?
Taking care of your Toothbrush is an extremely important task because if you leave especially toothbrush head part uncovered, bacteria can grow up and destroy your toothbrush bristles, effectiveness, and ultimately your oral health. It is a good habit to replace the cover immediately after brushing, and properly store your toothbrush in the brush box.
Though some toothbrushes come with headcover, but with most of the toothbrushes, headcovers are not available. So, we recommend you to buy online from Amazon.

What toothbrushes brands are available in Pakistan?
There are many world-class toothbrushes brands are available in Pakistan, such as:

  • Oral-B
  • Colgate
  • Sensodyne
  • Ezigrip
  • Gorey

What is the cost of different toothbrushes brands in Pakistan?
The price varies among different brands, ranging between Rs. 100 to 650 for manual toothbrushes and Rs. 2500 to 8000 for electric toothbrushes.
